Project Overview
Abstract
This project reorganized the position of Director of Academics in Alpha Phi and improved its processes. This project inspired future Directors to get more creative with this position since they won’t have to worry about who is or isn’t on academic probation. I did this by creating a separate gmail account to track study hours, have a formal way of communicating with people regarding grade checks, and creating documents regarding scholarship in the chapter.
Larger Purpose
This project will help me with my goal of learning how to improve and restructure a leadership position to better serve an organization.
Project Goals
Goal 1:

I will create a tracking system of members grades and their study hours in order to achieve organization and to streamline processes in the chapter.

I was able to achieve this goal by creating a seperate google drive account with google sheets, docs, etc.
Goal 2:

I will assist in updating the scholarship section of our organization’s bylaws to achieve highlighting the importance of scholarship in the chapter.

I was able to achieve this goal by providing recommendations to our current bylaws and there was new bylaws that were in place by Fall 2018, this included raising the GPA requirement to a 3.0.
Goal 3:

I will reward those in the chapter who have shown academic excellence in order to achieve motivation towards good grades in the chapter.

I was able to achieve this goal by creating a goodie bag with candies and a note of appreciation and encouragement.
Goal 4:

I will create a website with scholarship and internship opportunities in order to inform members of these resources.

I was only partially able to complete this goal because my department found it was easier to announce of opportunities during our weekly meetings in person rather than referring people to a website so that is what we did instead!
